  • Beer league at Black Raven Brewing (Woodinville): fun, social, team-based pinball
  • No IFPA points, no buy-ins, no rankings, just pints and pinball
  • Meets most Tuesdays for the duration of a given season
  • Expect two matches running at once most BRPL nights
  • Each team will have multiple Bye Weeks during a season, so you’re not obligated to play every week
  • A season of BRPL runs for 11 weeks: 8 weeks for the regular season, and 3 weeks for the playoffs
  • Regular season is a Single Round Robin structure (with 6 teams, each team plays 5 weeks during the regular season and sits with Byes for the other 3 weeks)
  • Playoffs use a Page System structure, accepting the top 4 qualifying teams to compete for the title of Season Champion
  • 4 rounds per match (R1 Doubles, R2 Singles, R3 Singles, R4 Doubles)
  • Away chooses machines and sets P1+P3 in R1 and P1 in R3; Home responds with players
  • Home chooses machines and sets P1 in R2 and P1+P3 in R4; Away responds with players
  • Aim to keep picks to 5–10 minutes between rounds; Captains are responsible for keeping things moving
  • Doubles: up to 5 points per game (each opponent beaten = +1 point, bonus +1 for highest team total)
  • Singles: Win = 3, Loss = 1; 4-0 if winner scored at least 2x the loser (loser gets 0)
  • Full match total potential: 36 from games + 5 bonus for full roster = 41 max
  • Standings: W-L-T record, then total season points as first tiebreaker, then official roster attendance as next tiebreaker
    • Ties can happen during regular season matches; worth less than a Win, more than a Loss
    • Even if your team cannot mathematically win a match, don’t give up — you want to earn as many match points as possible, since points are the first tiebreaker for playoff seeding
  • Captains confirm totals in the shared Google Sheet scoresheet and notify the LC when done
  • The digital sheet auto-feeds Standings only once both Captains confirm
  • Allowed only if: you’re not in the active round, your team isn’t picking/responding, you’re not on a picked machine for your upcoming round, and you’re not next to another machine that’s actively being played in a round by someone else
  • Use common sense and avoid interfering; warnings can become score penalties or further action
  • Our league rules follow IFPA/PAPA rules unless these docs override them; MNP rules are the default fallback beyond our ruleset
  • Disqualifications follow tourney standards (warning or record 0 points on first offense as applicable; repeat = further action by the LC), including (but not necessarily limited to):
    • Playing extra balls (plunge only for Skill Shot, then hands off)
    • Death Saves/Bang Backs
    • Plunging/playing another player’s ball
    • Harassing anyone or abusing machines
  • Coaching: teammates only; no touching the machine or player; don’t interfere with nearby matches; trapped-ball coaching limited to 60 seconds or less
  • Arrive by 5:30pm to verify machine states with the other team’s Captain(s) (any broken machines, etc.)
  • Keep the match moving forward, manage picks/responses, and enter scores in the Google Sheet scoresheet
  • Act as first-line TD with the other Captains in your match; call the LC if you can’t agree
  • Coordinate your team and source valid Subs when needed before a match, and verify their ratings/eligibility
  • Must meet player requirements; cannot be on any BRPL roster
  • Max 2 Subs in a night (50% of team), otherwise Forfeiture of the match
  • Subs during playoff matches will result in the fielding team forfeiting their +5 Bonus Points unless (1) there was no way to reasonably reschedule the match to afford each official roster member the chance to play, (2) the Sub(s) are equal to or lower ranked than the player they’re filling in for, and (3) the official roster member’s absence is legitimate and unavoidable (e.g. illness, injury, being out of town, etc.) — this ruling is not meant to allow players to intentionally swap in Subs for strategic reasons
  • Subs cannot cause the team to exceed roster composition limits
  • League Commissioner (LC): final rulings when/if Captains can’t agree
  • Board of Directors: composed of the League Commissioner and the Location Advisor, and is the final authority on all things league-related; advised by the Player Committee (one rep per team) for team input/votes as necessary

See Board of Directors → Contact for current LC and Location Advisor contact information.
